Blog: Week Ten

This week in Geography we had our maps and guided readings due.  We also had a map test today and I'm pretty sure I mixed up a mountain range.  Today we also got our Unit reviews and we will be having a test soon.  Then we will be studying for finals.

My summer vacation will be really busy this year.  pretty much every morning I will be getting up at 5:30 for swim practice at 6:00.  After that swim practice I will have another swim practice for another team.  I'm also taking 3 trips this summer.  I'm going to camp in Colorado for a week.  I'm going on a mission trip to Juarez, Mexico for a week.  And at the end of the summer I'm going to my lakehouse up in Idaho for a month.  It should be a fun eventful summer.

Blog: Week NIne

This week in geography we have been learning about Southeast Asia.  We finished our projects, taken the South Asia test and  done guided readings on Southeast Asia.

Out of all the places we have learned this year where do you want to go??  Hmm I don't know.  When we learn about places we tend to learn about bad things that re going on there.  But the Maldives sound really really cool.  I would love to go see all the islands and coral reefs of the Maldives.

Blog: Week Eight

This week in Geography we have been wraping up the chapter on South Asia.  On Tuesday we went to a lecture where we heard people speak about different religions.  On Wednesday we watched a movie about Mount Everest and today we completed guided readings from the chapter.

What do you want to be when you grow up???  That is a really hard question for me to answer because I really don't know.  I might want to be a teacher or own a business or something.  I'm not really sure.

Blog: Week Seven

This week in school we have had TAKS which is a big state wide test.  So we haven't really been doing that much in any of our classes. But in Geography we have been reading articles about the monk protests in Myanmar.

I just joined a new swim team and it has been really difficult because it starts at 5:00 and so I have to go strait from school and it ends at 7:30 so once I get home, eat dinner, and take a shower it is 9:00 and then I have to do all my homework.  So I've been pretty tiered, but it is fun and a really good workout.  We usually have 30 minutes of dry land where we run a mile then we do ab workouts.  After dryland we have 2 hours of swimming and we usually swim 2-3 miles.

Blog: Week Six

This week in geography we presented our plans to how to solve tensions in Iraq.  Now we are learning about different religions around the world.  My group is doing our project on christianity.  The other religions are judaism, hinduism, and Islam.   Tomorrow we will be presenting our posters.

This past week I have been driving a lot.  I don't have my license but I have my permit.  On Saturday I drove to my sisters soccer game and after that we went to Rudy's which is a really good bar-b-que restaurant.  The rest if the weekend I just hung out of home It was pretty fun though.

Blog: Week Five

In world geography we are currently learning about Southwest Asia.  We have learned about the struggle and fighting over water.  We have also been learning about some of the conflicts going on in Iraq.

This past weekend I hung out at home a lot.  On Saturday I did some work for my mom and then I baby sat.  I'm saving up for a car so I'm going to have to earn a lot of money.  On Sunday I watched a movie with my sisters and then my family went to P.F. Chang's which is my favorite restaurant. Overall it was a pretty uninteresting weekend.

Blog: Week Four

This week in geography we have been starting on the unit on Southwest Asia.  On Tuesday and Wednesday we did the maps.  Today we had to turn in our Africa masks. I didn't get to present today, but tomorrow I probably will.

This week I will tell you a little bit about myself.  I like to swim. I'm on the Anderson swim team and it is really fun.  My favorite stroke is backstroke.  I also like to read. Right now I'm reading the Twilight books and they are really really good.  I love listening to music I pretty much always have on the radio or have music playing on my computer.  I really like taking pictures at my ranch.

Blog: Week Three

In geography we have been learning about Africa.  But we just took the Unit test so we're about to start on the Middle East (I think). The test was over the chapters and the maps.  We also had to do an open ended question about Rwanda.

Okay so it isn't technically week three, but last week was spring break so my family and I wen up to Idaho to go skiing at a place called Schweitzer.  It was really fun and my cousins came for the weekend.  One of the days we decided to have a scavenger hunt on the ski hill and we did stuff like take a picture with someone you don't know, make a pyramid on top of the mountain, make snowmen and snow angels, etc.  It was so much fun and my team one so the other team had to sing I'm a little teapot really loud in the middle of a restaurant.  It was really fun.

Blog: Week Two

This week in World Geography we have been learning about Darfur and other genocides.  It has been kind of crazy with TAKS (a state-wide test) going on but now that is over it's going to get better.

This week I guess I will tell you about my family.  I have 2 sisters Casey and Megan.  Casey is 13 and Megan is 11.  My parents own a car wash and while my dad is up there running my mom does all the accounting stuff.  I also have a golden retriever named Lucy who is just a puppy and the best dog in the world... she is really smart.  We have taught her to sit, lie down, shake and roll over.  I also have 2 cats named Molly and Penelope.

Blog: Week One

In geography we are mainly learning about Africa. We did our Africa maps and I'm not looking forward to the map test ;) We also got articles on tribes, African art and genocide.  

So about Austin.  If I had a friend in town who wasn't from here I would probably take then to the drag.  It is lots of fun and they have a lot of good shopping down there.  I would also take them to Barton Springs but only if it is summer time because the water is really cold.

Anyways I've just been doing school work and hanging out with friends.  I went up to my ranch this weekend which was pretty fun and I rode four wheelers and just relaxed up there.  It was nice.

First blog

Alright I made a blog.  I'm not really sure what to write, so I'll start off with what I've learned in class recently.  So as many of you know we are learning about Russia and I just learned all the republics and capitals.  I've also pretty much learned the vocabulary.  I just finished reading chapter 15 and need to start reading chapter 16.

Now I think I'm supposed to write what I've been up to the past couple of weeks.  Well now that I'm done with swimming I've found my weekends pretty much free.  I mean I miss it but it is nice having the extra free time and it nice sleeping in too.  Otherwise nothing good has really happened.  I've just been hanging out with friends and doing a ton of school work.
